character Animation
A personal project, my favorite dinosaur has always been the velociraptor and I've always wanted to animate one since I started animating. Here I used multiple references, cassowaries, ostrich, and also took some inspiration from the Jurassic movies! It was fun studying film going frame by frame to learn how these animals walk.

A cat leaping towards a rock trying to stay out of water. I used reference of a lynx cat to help with the strong push off and the smooth glide. Another personal test for show.

In this project I focused on facial and acting animation, to show; a pissed off bird not wanting to waste any of his time. I used video reference of myself acting out the beats to create this shot, a part of many entries for an animation competition.

A part of a school project for a short 2D animated story “Off the Beaten Path”. During preproduction I helped build environment props in Autodesk maya. In post-production I helped animating characters for this short story. I did the blocking, coloring, and final animation for this scene.

A part of my university course “Animation Studio”. For our term we had a project that spanned 10-weeks to complete a fully animated rendered scene. I storyboarded, sourced prop models, built the environment, lighting, shot reference, animated, and finally rendered with Arnold in Maya. I focused mainly on the animation to have a believable act on the screen. Many weeks was just trying to get the acting beats right and have it feel like he’s talking to someone off screen. Feedback from my peers and instructors were taken in consideration to help bring this character to life.
